Holy mother of all that's palatial have we got a sweet weekend planned. Parties, fashion, music, art and we're talking about all those things converging during the three events we've chosen to highlight here. Yup, this weekend is serious. Seriously fun. Care to join us?
WE DON’T WANT TO MISS:
INAUGURAL SCOUTMOB DC 'STACHE BASH
Friday, September 23, 9 p.m. to later
Yup, we're planning a local-loving get-together with some of our favorite taste-makers and we want you to be there. We're like Uncle Sam with booze. With the help of No Kings Collective, who converted a dusty old warehouse into a three-story work of art called Submerge, we'll be declaring this venue Partytown, USA on Friday. Come and sample a sought-after assortment of local treats from Sundevich and Pleasant Pops set to the sounds of some great local tunes.
ALSO WORTH CHECKING OUT:
ART ALL NIGHT : NUIT BLANCHE DC
Saturday, September 24, 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Not since, well, ever has DC been home to such an awesome concept. Borrowed from the French iteration of Nuit Blanche, Ariana Austin has teamed up with Shaw Main Streets to bring a taste of Paris to the District in this inaugural event. Featuring 20 venues and over twice as many artists, hop about Chinatown and Shaw, while conversing with friends, buying art, soaking up the culture and just having fun. Get there early and get there late. It's on all night.
WASHINGTON SOUND MUSEUM V
Saturday, September 24, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Perhaps before you head out to check out Art All Night, you can stop by BloomBars in Columbia Heights, where they'll be hosting another iteration of Washington Sound Museum. Talent abounds: see and hear Shannon Dunne play traditional Irish music and Christylez Bacon throw down some progressive hip-hop. Come early for the tea reception at 7 and, obviously, stay for the performances, which start at 8 p.m.
